Pet Import Requirements in Vietnam
The majority of pets, such as dogs, cats and birds are permitted to enter the country without quarantine. Pet animals can be imported free of duty. The shipper must be present in Vietnam while Customs clearance.

Vietnamese pet import requirements:
Imported pets must be identified with the help of a microchip. It should comply with ISO Standard 11784 or Annex A to ISO standard 11785 otherwise the animal will need to be sent with the scanner attached to the top of the crate.

All imported pets must have an original Rabies Certificate indicating the microchip number, the date of inoculation and the validity of the vaccination you receive (some of them are good for 2 years, others are only good for 1 year). All vaccines must be an inactivated vaccine.

Vet Health Certificate (Form 7001) is the standard Health Certificate to be performed by the USDA accredited veterinarian. It must be issued within 10 days of the departure.

USDA Endorsement can be in the following forms: Microchip Implantation Record; Rabies Certificate; Vet Health Certificate must be sent to the local USDA for obtaining their stamp of approval.
