Pet Import Requirements in Pakistan

Dogs, cats, and birds can be imported to Pakistan if they have an import permit. The permit can be obtained from the Office of Imports and Exports Control Organization upon arrival. All applications for permits should be supplemented with a health certificate indicating that the pet is free of diseases and that a rabies vaccine has been administered. Monkeys must be supplemented with a veterinary health certificate indicating that the monkey has never been on a yellow fever territory and has not traveled through such territory within 311 days before entry in Pakistan. Monkeys must be branded.

Duties and taxes are applicable to imported cats and dogs and must be paid in US dollars. The presence of shipper is required at customs clearance. The above pets may be imported as either accompanied baggage or cargo.

Pet import documentation: Import permit from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries; copy of air waybill and flight pre-alert (must be issued 2 days prior to the pet’s arrival in Pakistan); updated Vaccination certificate; Health certificate, dated 2 days prior to departure.
