Pet Import Requirements in Hungary
Import documents: Original Health Certificate (form 7001) issued by a USDA Accredited Vet; Dual Language Health Certificate (issued not more than 10 days ago); Original Rabies Vaccination Record; Printed History of Pets Vet Records; Copy of Original Passport of the Owner; E.U Entry Form; Copy of Visa (or Work Permit); Copy of Airway Bill if pets are sent as cargo. All of the above documents (except for the Airway Bill) needs to be sent to the local USDA Office for their approval stamp – within 10 days of the departure date.

Pet owners should remember that the Rabies must be done more than 1 month, but not more than 12 months, before to the departure date. A Microchip is required and the microchip number have to be indicated on the vaccination or health certificate.  One copy of Health certificate, one copy of Airway Bill, one copy of Rabies Vaccination and copy of passport of the owner should be presented to the carrier 10 working days before pet arrival.

The Veterinary Ministry of Hungary requires a minimum 3-day advanced notice to fix Vet clearance at Customs and they do not clear on weekends, without prior notification.
