Pet Import Requirements in Ghana
Check with Ghana Customs and Dept. of Agriculture before shipping any animals. Import license is granted after the shipper has made arrangements for the period of quarantine with a licensed kennel.

Pets, such as dogs and cats must be accompanied by a veterinarian good health and rabies innoculation certificates issued at point of origin. Moreover, they may enter as passenger's checked baggage, in the cabin or as cargo.

Pets must have a late certificate of vaccination against rabies. This certificate of good health signed by a veterinarian not more than 10 days before arrival.

Notify the embassy well in advance if you plan to ship a pet. You should fax copies of your pets’medical credentials to the post GSO as soon as you have them in hand. Your pets should arrive with you on the same flight and be checked baggage.
