Pet Import Requirements in El Salvador

Pets may be imported duty-free if they are not to be resold, but they are subject to an import tax of approximately 10% of the CIF value.

Required Documents:
1) Special permit issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Stockbreeding;
2) Certificate of Health issued by a licensed Veterinarian;
3) Certificate of vaccination;
4) Certificate of pedigree issued in country of origin;
5) Proof of ownership;
6) Commercial invoice or pro forma invoice with estimated value of the pet(s) being imported.
