Pet Regulations: Pets must be vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days before to travel to Colombia. Rabies Vaccination Certificate not required for pets coming from rabies free country. Also pets must be vaccinated agains Hepatitis, Distemper, Parvovirus and Leptospirosis. A Health Certificate is needed from recognised Veterinarian to confirm pet is healthy, free of parasites and there is no evidence of communicable diseases to humans. It is highly recommended that pets are on a flea and tick prevention program when entering Colombia. Certificate should have been issued as close as possible to date of travel but not more than 14 days.
Birds imported to Colombia must obtain a zoo sanitary permit issued by the ICA - Colombian Institute of Agriculture and Livestock. This permit must be obtained prior to arrival. All animals, whether accompanied or not, are subject to import duties.
Prohibited: - the import of all feline animals, i.e. cats or catlike and any other animal that may catch Bovine Espongiform Brain Disease. - the following canine breeds and any cross breeds of: American Pitbull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Argentine Dogo, Bullmastiff, Canary Dog, Doberman, Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff), Fila Brasileiro (Brazilian Mastiff), Japanese Tosa, Neapolitan Mastiff, Pitbull Terrier, Rottweiler and Staffordshire Terrier. |
